Rapid Serial Visual Presentation flashes one word at a time at a fixed point, letting your eyes stay still instead of scanning lines. With a little practice you can comfortably double or triple your normal reading speed on familiar material. The orange letter is the optimal recognition point — fixate there and the surrounding letters land where your peripheral vision reads them best.
